Next up is the King MAS. This watch is a personal imagining of the 62-MAS. It is a smaller relative of the MAS-GMT sitting at 38mm and feels perfect on my wrist. I knew I had to make a dive watch for this collection, and I feel like this is my favorite dive ever, let alone one I’ve made. The dial sits deep within the case, and has the first fully hand printed treatment that I have ever done. Much like Screen Printing, the colors on the dial must be laid down individually, aligning the registration to the best of my ability. This also comes with a dual-time bezel insert for legibility, which rotates as the most basic form of a timer on your wrist.
Powered by a Seiko automatic movement that has been calibrated for the most optimal time keeping. Seiko’s movements are regarded as some of the best in the business, and I am honored to use them as the driver underneath my hand made dials and home assembled watches. All of this fits comfortably in the 38mm case complete with a flat sapphire crystal and screw down crown. This basically means I swim in these watches and have no fear of water damage as long as the crown is screwed down to its locked position.
