The FAUX King KT1, is somewhat of a “Kit Watch” as I feel like this can be worn in any scenario. As a field, tool (without the extra functionality) or to dress up a bit. The case is a unique shape that is not exactly circular, but frames up the dial beautifully. This also feels like somewhat of a window into a different place. Tone on tone black indices provide a nice texture for the kanji chapter ring to stand out, and accent the kanji date complication. This watch always felt like a samurai sword to me. I think this is punctuated by the hand set, chosen for its resemblance to bamboo.
Powered by a Seiko automatic movement that has been calibrated for the most optimal time keeping. Seiko’s movements are regarded as some of the best in the business, and I am honored to use them as the driver underneath my hand made dials and home assembled watches. All of this fits comfortably in the 38mm case complete with a flat sapphire crystal and screw down crown. This basically means I swim in these watches and have no fear of water damage as long as the crown is screwed down to its locked position.
